Manual Merge - OrderMerger
Overview
The Manual Merge page allows you to immediately combine specific orders without waiting for automatic processing. This feature is perfect for handling urgent requests, processing orders that don't meet automatic rules, or consolidating orders on-demand based on customer requests or business needs.
How to Access Manual Merge
Method 1: Direct Order ID Entry
Navigate to Manual Merge page and manually type order IDs in the input box.
Steps:
- Go to Manual Merge page
- Enter order IDs in the search field
- Configure merge settings
- Click "Merge Orders"
Method 2: From Shopify Orders Page
Select orders from your Shopify admin and use OrderMerger bulk actions.
Option A - Merge Orders:
When this option is selected, you'll be redirected to Manual Merge page with order IDs pre-filled where you have full control and customization before merging. Use this when you need to adjust settings for specific circumstances
- Go to Shopify Admin → Orders
- Select the orders you want to merge (checkboxes)
- Click "Merge Orders" button
- You'll be redirected to Manual Merge page with order IDs pre-filled
- Review and adjust settings as needed
- Click "Merge Orders"
Option B - Quick Merge:
Instantly merges orders using your saved automatic merge settings.
- Go to Shopify Admin → Orders
- Select the orders you want to merge (checkboxes)
- Click "Quick Merge" button
- Approve.
- Orders are instantly merged using your default Automatic Merge settings
- No additional configuration needed
Conflict Handling
Configure how to resolve differences between orders. Uses the same settings as Automatic Merge - see Automatic Merge Conflict Handling documentation for detailed explanations of all options:
- Shipping Rate to Keep
- Refund Settings (Unused Shipping & All Shipping)
- Shipping Method Name
- Order Tags Handling
- Order Naming Options
- Refunded Items Handling
- Custom Tax & Discount Names
Default Settings: Manual merge inherits your Automatic Merge settings but can be customized for each merge.
Order Actions
Configure what happens to new and original orders. Uses the same options as Automatic Merge - see Automatic Merge Order Actions documentation for detailed explanations of all options:
New Orders (After Merge):
- Add Tags (with dynamic variables)
- Add Notes (with dynamic variables)
- Set New Order Value to Zero
Original Orders:
- Add Tags & Notes
- Archive Original Orders
- Cancel Original Orders (⚠️ IRREVERSIBLE)
- Restock Items
- Fulfill Original Orders (helpful for multi-channel platforms)
Merge Execution
Merge Process:
- Click the "Merge Orders" button at the bottom of the page (only enabled when all validations pass)
- Wait a second or two for processing
- Your orders are merged! When complete, a success modal appears automatically
Success Modal:
After successful merge, a modal displays:
- New merged order details
- Merge summary and savings
- "View Order" button - click to open the merged order in Shopify admin
